BJÖRN TRÄGÅRDH

Björn Trägårdh was a designer for Svenskt Tenn from 1927- 1934, where he created elegant and functional furniture and decorative objects. He worked in a similar capacity for Reijmyre Glassworks in 1937.Trägårdh's designs were featured in prestigious exhibitions, many of them in conjunction with renowned designer Estrid Ericson's works, who was the founder of Svenkst Tenn.When he was succeeded in his position by Josef Frank in 1939,Trägårdh relocated to Paris where he focused on painting. Later, he returned to handicrafts and manufactured buttons and brooches for established fashion houses such as Dior, Bruyére and Schiaparelli. Trägårdh's artworks and designs are represented at the National Museum in Stockholm, the Gothenburg Art Museum, and the Institute Tessin in Paris among others.
