Cyril Vergniol (b. Ivory Coast) is a Parisian interior designer who honed his eye at the esteemed agency Alberto Pinto International before establishing an interior design firm of his own, STYLAGOS, in 2008. Since then, Vergniol has been involved with numerous renovations of private residences in Paris, New York, Shanghai, and Antiparos, as well as the historic Hôtel de Crillon in Paris and Hôtel Longemalle in Geneva. For a pair of model residences in a New York high-rise, he contributed a bold concept with nods to French Surrealist works of the 1950s. Vergniol’s reputation for thoughtful yet eclectic combinations of contemporary artwork, antiques, and both custom and vintage furniture finds inspiration in varied sources, whether iconic jewelry designs of years past, the 1970s West African architecture he witnessed in his childhood, or the long tradition of French decorative arts. His line of pâte de verre side tables features raw colored glass on bronze modernist bases, both treated with a rough-textured finish to reimagine salon furnishings as bold, brutalist, and captivating.
